Default Cylinder Head Blow Up

Yesterday with 57,000 miles on my 2003 PT Cruiser Turbo the cylinder head blew up. Fortunately it is covered by the power-train warranty otherwise the dealer told me it would cost between 2K - 2,500K to repair. Anyone else have this problem? Is this a common occurence with PT's?

Also, does anyone know if Chrysler dealers (esp in and around Denver) usually offer a loaner car or pay for a rental car during replacement of warranty type items? Due to it being the holidays best case scenario is I will have my car back on Friday. Worst case, I will have it back early next week.

I don't believe the 7/70 drivetrain warranty provides a loaner. The Chrysler extended warranty, if you have it, covers car rental for repairs requiring overnight stays.
Depending on the dealer, they may offer a loaner as a courtesy to their customers.

I've heard this happens to newer model Pontiacs a lot but not PTs.

Welcome.
Define "blew up" - Worst I've heard is a few (not many) head gasket failures, maybe needing a new head due to warpage.
NOT common.
Loaner a courtesy provided by some dealers.

This is what the dealership told me. And that it would take 11 hours to fix.
