Default Rotors???

I'll need pads in a short while, so I thought I might get into 'cross drilled', or 'slotted' rotors. After looking into it, and finding prices all over the place. I got to thinkin, 'do I really' need all this? What will they do for me anyway? My Cruiser is an 01, and it goes around town and to work. I don't beat on it anyway. I have 18s all around, and I guess they would look good, but really! Thanks for your feed-back.

If that's all you do (back & forth to work and town) and don't show it, then you might as well save yourself some money and stick to the stock rotors. If your 18's show a lot of caliber & rotor and you want more "bling", slotted/drilled or both will show it off.

has anybody had any luck with the drilled/slotted rotors
from anyone selling on ebay? I've heard about some nightmares
but there has to be someone selling some half way decent ones
somewhere for a fair price....I would think...

Mike,

The picture I posted above are the rotors I got off eBay. It's been a long time since I bought them and don't have the paper work any more to tell you who the seller was. I bought pads, rotors, wires and plugs in advance to keep on-hand when I needed them and finally used them all. If I find out who the seller was I'll post it. If I remember correctly, it was somewhere around $110 for the pair.

My $.02. For normal driving, slotted & drilled is for "bling" and they may wear the pads faster. There is a difference in the steel used - NAPA has 2 prices on disks for the PT, I got the better ones on my '02 and was very pleased.
Hope you're getting ceramic pads - they're worth it - last longer & no dust.

I'll be looking for new pads and rotors this spring. I was thinking of going for slotted rotors. Tire Rack sells slotted rotors, but with a disclaimer that they're 'not for heavy duty' use. That what I want them for, I use the PT for towing. I'll stick with the regular rotors.
