Default ROTOR REMOVAL

Contemplating re-doing the FT/RR brake to new slotted/drilled rotors and ceramic pads. Will probably have the pads installed professionally but thinking about installing the new rotors myself. Any guidance from those in the know will be highly appreciated.

Paully,

Just did it to my front brakes (new rotors and pads). Two bolts holding the caliper on. Once they are off the rotor just slides out. Have something like a large C-clamp handy to push the piston back into the caliper as the new pads are much thicker than the ones your taking out and you need the room to slide the caliper over the new rotor. Also, both pads in each caliper have a metal anti-squeel piece at the bottom that has to come out before you take out the old pads. Take note of exactly how they fit in before you remove them so you can put them back the exact same way.

If you are removing the rotors, then the pads will be out. Do it all yourself. Why have the pads done professionally? You like to spend money? PM (email) me and I'll give you a link to a step by step guide to rotor and pad removal, but I can't post it here, the admin will ban me (ask about that too!) It's a guide for caliper painting but has the instructions for rotor and caliper removal.....

eBay...where else is there? [:I] Picked up pads, rotors, plug wires and a case of oil filters to keep on-hand when needed...and I've used them all.

I've had to go through about 6 or 7 id's here since 2004, all for mentioning the name of another forum. Seems every other forum but the one I mention is accepted and fine to say here, and that ticks me off, so yeah, I push it at times.....

On my '02, I followed MX-5's advice and got the best rotors NAPA sells (they have a couple price ranges). Show a AAA card and get 7% off.
I Got Raybestos ceramic pads at RockAuto.Com.
NAPA has the same pads as their top-of-line, but for more than at Rock Auto.
Combined results of pads & rotors was better braking, longer life, and NO DUST.
