Default Problem solved... Sorta

I was having problems with a sudden loss of power when either my Heater fan was turned on or my A/C automaticly turned and it seemed that it was just simply to much of a draw for my electrical system for a few seconds but now I have decreased the frequency of this occuring by driving with my vent selector in anything but defrost and mix (because it activates the A/C). Oh, ya and I am waiting on my Crane Fire wires. I will update on that later.

So now my next question is how do I increase the efficiency of my ground for my electrical system so I don't have the lights (interior and exterior) dim when I: Tap my brakes, turn on my fan, etc. etc. I have read a few things in the forum about different ideas but I was looking for a simple explanation that did not involve purchasing a whole new wiring harness. I was thinking more on the lines of adding a few ground wires here and there but I need some input on where is best.

I also just read about grounding your plug wires? huh?[:I]

It's called "Hyper Grounding" and you can buy a kit or just make it up yourself with a decent set of wires and wire ends. You can find the kits on eBay for around $10 plus shipping.

Essentially, you start with the negative terminal of the battery and from there run grounding wires to different parts in the engine bay. I ran three wires to: (1)Good grounding screw on the body; (2) one of the bolts that hold the computer to the firewall; (3) a grounded bolt on the engine. I covered the grounding wires with chrome wire loom to they would match the other wires in the engine bay. The grounding wires are the ones marked with a yellow star in the picture below.

Great picture and description thanks.

1 more thing?

What gauge do you use and did you notice a big difference?

I bought the kit off eBay so I'm not sure what guage the wiring was but pretty good thickness, almost the same size as the negative battery cable itself.

No, I didn't notice any difference, but others have. "They" say the computer works better, no flickering lights, better/smoother idle and better sound out of the stereo. How could you go wrong? [:I] I wasn't having any of those problems but there was so much talk, and it's an easy mod to do, so I went ahead and did it. It's one of those things as in .... "it can't hurt, and might do some good".

Another option is to go to Advance Auto, etc - they have a selection of battery cables - I picked a length and added on from neg of battery to computer casing on firewall, and plan to add a couple more - you pick the lengths....
