Default A/C

I have a 2002 PT Limited, the A/C stoped blowing cold air. I tried to put in the R something kit deal but it had enough freon. Any ideas what are some of the quarks if any I could look at? I hope it;s not a compressor.[:I]

Your post indicates a lack of automotive and A/C knowledge (and spelling errors). DON'T work on this system unless you know what you are doing! Take it to a trusted professional.

Take Purple04's advice and leave it to an expert. He said what I was thinking.

Yep, I can't spell worth a darn. I did work on and fix my wife Sebring's A/C with the kit. I am going to take the PT to a Mech. I just wanted a few ideas on the Possibilities, of what I might expect.[8D]

Stirfry,

Don't go away mad. It's just the way you worded your post (R something kit) that getting technical seemed like it wouldn't do any good. By the way it's R-134 that 99% of the cars are using). If your positive that the combination in your system is right and the pressure is correct, that leaves out one of the big possiblilities: the high pressure switch. You can't see the compressor in the PT, but can you feel it coming on or re-cycling? Here it click on and off? The pressure has to be just right or that switch I was referring to, won't let the compressor come on.

Thanks Crewzin;
I didn't take offense, I completly understand, this is the tech site. Thanks for the tip, sounds a lot less expensive to fix. Now when I talk to a A/C man I have something a little more intellegent to say. [|)]
Thank you all again.

Stirfry,

Definately not a TECH site, but your question was in the Tech section and we have a lot of knowledgeable people who like to help out whenever we can. The more information we have to go on, the better chance of having the problem diagnosed, or at least a couple guesses that might lead you in the right direction.
