Why? They wouldn't add squat when your brights are on.

What they said. I think it may be to much load anyway. The multifunction switch has enough problems as it is without adding more wattage to it

I beleive it is DOT or some other regulatory organization that mandates fog lights turn off when high beams are turned on. I remember reading this in the instructions when installing fog lights on another vehicle in the past

fog lights are mounted low to shine under fog, not bounce light off and back into your eyes. High beams are for clear conditions to see further. Different driving situations, different lighting. Please tell me you aren't one of those guys that drives around on city streets in clear conditions with your (poorly aimed) fog lights on. Arrgh!

Chrysler calls them "Foglights" in their brochure.

I can only speak for Florida law enforcement: Statue 316.233

FOG LAMPS. Any motor vehicle may be equipped with not to exceed two fog lamps mounted on the front at a height not less than 12 inches nor more than 30 inches above the level surface upon which the vehicle stands and so aimed that when the vehicle is not loaded none of the high intensity portion of the light to the left of the center of the vehicle shall at a distance of 25 feet ahead project higher than a level of 4 inches below the level of the center of the lamp from which it comes. Lighted fog lamps meeting the above requirements may be used with lower headlamp beams only as specified in Statue 316.237
