Default Best muffler/catback/cat for 2006 non turbo?

New to PT's (worked on Mustangs for years).
I was thinking of changing to a high flow cat and muffler
(not sure if the entire system is necessary)
Thanks for any help

I have Bassani, like the sound. I got it from Race and Street.

Really no need to replace the cat on a n/a PT. It flows pretty well. As for getting an exhaust get one that makes the sound you like. There is no performance gain with an aftermarket exhaust so what you want the car to sound like is what you are looking for. Now the turbo benefits alot if you up the boost and go with a larger turboback exhaust. The turbo spools up faster so you get more power quicker.

That was my other question, "would I get any performance gains".
If not, Im in no hurry to change it. I have bassani on my Mustang and like the sound.
Thank you for your help

Shop Very Carefully for replacement exhausts on NA PTs. Listen to systems (go to some pt meets) and ask about The Dreaded Drone.
(a Nasty resonance that can be pretty annoying with some exhausts at highway speed.)

My advice, too. There are lots of posts from folks who put on exhausts and are unhappy. Music to one person is noise to another.
I had Bassani on my '02, I got a BTG on my '05 (both duals) I like the design of the BTG better - it is really flow thru - you can see right down the pipe. The BTG has a deeper sound, but you have to hear and judge for yourself.

You will get a bump from an intake - I suggest you look at the K&N Apollo - you should get better flow, cold air and not much noise increase.
