Default Flushing Radiator

Should this be done at home or should I just let Chrysler do it?
Thought from those who know more about it then me.
Thanks

It is easy enough to do at home BUT... there is the problem of disposing of the used coolant.
It is considered hazmat, so you can't just dump it down the storm drain.

So you can pay a dealer a lot to do it, or use an independent garage, which can save you money and hassle.

Fritz,
Thanks, actually I stumbled upon this in my Haynes Manual late last night, I couldn't find it previously. Seems like something I can't mess up too much, so I will give it a try this weekend.
Show work out with a garden hose because I shouldn't have any sedement, the coolant looks pretty good to me, but does need to be changed. Since I'm taking it apart anyways, might just drain it too and flush it when fixing the thermostat.

My thermostat is defiantly done for, the PT hardly reads warm at all now, so that tells me that it is stuck open. I'm trying hard not to drive to hard until sat.

Its nice, Walmart takes junk you leave out and gets rid of it for you. Thats what I call disposal, let them deal with it. That's what I did with my battery when they wanted me to wait two hours to change it, I said I'd leave it outside, they said ok, we'll take care of it.

That's funny, usually the stat will fail closed unless you buy a special aftermarket one that states it fails open ( I can't remember the brand), and at the time I didn't see one that would fit the PT.You may have a temp sensor that is going bad.

I do my own oil and coolant changes and I know that the local Pep Boys has an area to drop your used fliuds off free of charge, any time of day, which is handy for me,because as a third shift worker,I do alot of my work in the early am hours when shops are closed.

I finally did the job last night. Was surprised the coolant didn't look too bad. However the thermostat was broken in two pieces. So I'm glad I learned something from it all.

Still have the check engine light and same fault code. Guess it needs to be reset. [:I]

I plan to make a drop off at one of those shops tonight to rid myself of my old coolant.

The light reset itself this mourning as I drove on my lunch break.
