Default Dropping gas mileage

I've got an 01 cruiser that since day one got 25 mpg everywhere. Now at 73000 miles its dropped to 20 mpg. I recently had the dealer change plugs and do transmission maintenance. Still 20 mpg. Tires are michelins in good shape, correct pressure.
I wonder if the injectors are fouled. I've tried some gas tank remedies with no change. How tough is it to clean injectors? Do dealers have the right stuff? Do the injectors need to be removed or do dealers have a system which runs a solvent right into the injectors to clean them while the engine runs on the solvent( I saw this some time back on Back Yard Mechanic!)
Thanks for help advice.

Before you spend $$ on a fuel system service. Have you ever had the plug wires changed? You said the plugs were changed but no mention of wires. If they are the original, they are toast at 73,000 miles!

I agree - the plug wires had a night and day difference in regards to gas mileage and performance all together on my 2001. Also may want to check the spark plug gap, if that is wrong, that could be the reason for loosing those 5mpg. Also, a K&N filter did wonders for me, I was getting 28-29mpg on the highway right before I traded my car in. It had 72,000 miles on it when I traded it.

To add to Matt's post, there is a TSB out that changes the plug gap from 0.050", as shown on the label under the hood to a gap of 0.040".
