power steering pressure sensor

im getting a trouble code for it. I can figure what it does, but how does it affect performance? will my steering fail if i dont replace it?

There was a recall for power steering hoses that ran under the auto-trans. Some of the hoses rubbed so much on the trans that power steering leaked and in a couple of cases caught fire. That might not have anything to do with your problem but have it checked out ASAP.
