broke map sensor
2003 PT Cruiser non-turbo
While I was changing the plugs, I lifted the manifold a little too high and broke the MAP sensor and the connector to it (it also gave an error code of p0108). The car is running rought now; hesitating at red lights, but it still runs with no back fire--seems to be firing fine too. I went to Chrysler and ordered the MAP sensor and the connector. It may have been a blessing in disguise because I always had performance (changed the plugs once already) and gas mileage issues with my car and I learned from Chrysler that the MAP sensor part that I ordered is a superceded part from the one that came with the car. Now, when I get the connector, will it come with wires attached to it or do I have to splice the wires from the connector that is on the car. Does anybody have instructions on how to connect wires to the connector?
Do I really have to disconnect the negative terminal from battery?
Also, can somebody recommend spark plugs for a 2003 non-turbo PT cruiser and the gap to it.
Is it important to use a torque the screws to the proper specs that hold the manifold to the bottom?
Will the error codes go away imeadiately once I install the new map sensor or do I have to reset the car?
Thanks in advance.
