Nah I agree I wouldn't throw money away on a new set either. Might as well use those till the fade out too. As for the lotto I'm the wrong person for advice on that, don't play, with my luck I would end up owing money not winnin it LOL

Ok Ive driven it about 100 miles since the download of new software to the PCM,,a big improvement! I havent owned an American car in awhile but am still amazed that they charge you alot of money$$ to fix something that was designed incorectly form Chrysler! I will be hard pressed to buy another! I hope the supposeded NEW Chrysler has a NEW attidude (I doubt it) because so far they have flatly refused to pay (only 50k on PT) I think by ready this forum(they should read it also) that alot of folks have the same problem! my new 04 dc#3 has thrown the code p0300 and i was told that i have to take it to the dealer for teh pcm ................. i have already replaced the spark plugs and wires... hoping this would take care of the problem... 200.00 later and still find it didn't completely take care of the problems..... so i guess i will take the cruiser somewehre... wish it wasn't the dealer...and get it fixed.. i don't like having on engine light staying on..... drives me crazy

thats my gripe also..can the software be loaded anywhere,,even a private shop?? Alot of shops advertize Free computer checkups in my area? Is the technology available?Not the $90+ dollars the dealer rips us off for!!

i am trying to hold out................ i did put some injector cleaner in the her.... before i find out the whole problem... thankfuly the car place i took it too and that found the pcm problem... is the one that told me only the dealer could take care of it....

i just want her to fun right.... to bad my hubby's smarty for his truck that also reads codes couldn't fix it.... i know he can download stuff for his truck ...

i haven't even gotten the tag yet..

Just my thoughts on this, but if Chrysler comes out with a software computer fix, they aren't going to ship it anywhere but their own dealers. I dought that local shops could get their hands on it.

Yea, it sucks, specially since it involves a fault of their own and then they charge for the software upgrade. Like building in a pre-determined failure so they know you have to come back and spend money to get it fixed.

i take my car into the dealer friday morning... they are goin to reflash the pcm and i was also told my plugs and wires would have been covered under warrenty.... thanks.. for telling me now.. after i have already paid for them

well i took her in ... they didn't change the spark plugs or the wires since i just had them done... but they did reflash the pcm for nothing no money and crossing my fingers that the codes don't come back.... i was told my plugs and wires would have been covered under warrenty.... after i had paid for them....

I have the a/c problem too when I'm idling. ('02 auto) It's an endless cycle of the compressor struggling with an accompanied RPM drop. "WHirrrr, normal, whirrrr, normal." No cold air will blow at all during this time. It's fine once the car gets going, though. Also, my car used to outright die on me mid corner if I didn't stay on the gas a little bit. In motion + no power steering/brakes = in movement with no clean pants. Just all general idling problems that only seemed to happen in humid weather. I replaced the plugs along with the battery too because I was also having starting problems. Everything was perfect again until this recent a/c thing.
