Jlaing, I have a 2002 limited 2.4. Check out my dyno readings currently posted in the Tech & Performance Forum under "Performance Chip? *Newbie Question*" My stock baseline ran 122.3 net HP (at the wheels) peaking out at 5,200 RPM.

Folks, this is my first post and wanted to add my nickels worth. I grew up around hot rods, the first car I remember was my fathers 32 Ford hiboy powered by a 48 MERC flattie with Ardun OHV conversion heads. That should really date me.
I use a GTECH unit to measure my performance improvements. You can check out their web page for details. The baseline for my 02 PT 5speed was 115.3 hp. The addition of a Volant Cold Air Intake System brought that to 125.3 and a Monza Pacesetter 2 ¼ CAT back exhaust system raised the output to an even 127hp. All tests are the avg. of 10 runs. The GTECH ratings are not static tests (not chained to a dyno roller) and reflect the losses for wind resistance, rolling resistance etc. The really good news is my daily grind fuel mileage went from 19.5 to 22.7 and trip mileage from 25.5 to 29.8. Hope some of you fins these numbers useful or of interest. |

Here's my dyno runs.
I made 2 base runs at 110hp and 113hp. Here's the graph: http://ptenthusiasts.org/PTForums/at...&postid=373132 From here: http://ptenthusiasts.org/PTForums/sh...threadid=33886 |

I may be way out of line here, but isn't stock advertised at 150hp for the 2002 base models? I don't have a dyno, but whenever anyone asked how much hp it had, i said 150....am I lying?

These guys are measuring horsepower at the drive wheels after the transmission and related parts have used 15 to 25% of the power. These losses are called powertrain or parasitic losses. This is not something unique to the PT. It applies to all cars. Puck |
