Has anyone used the H & R sport springs. After last winter I don't want to go too low and these drop front and rear 1.3". With that drop do you need to cut the bump stops ? Any comments good or bad would be appreciated

I have the H&R's on my GT. just measured the other day for another guy and I came up with 25.75" front and 26.75" rear as measured 90 degrees to the garage floor up through the center of the wheel to the bottom of the wheel well lip. I am going to cut my rear stops because I do feel it rebounding off of them at times.

Cal, my stock GT sits 27.5" in the front and 28 1/4" in the back so yours is 1.75" lower in the front and 1.5" lower in the back than mine.

Thanks Michael, I forgot to measure before I did the install! Seems more than advertised. I also think that it has settled some since install too so maybe advertised drop is right after install.

I just went out and measured my 02 Limited and it's 27" in front and 28 " in back so that would be exactly what they advertise unless the GT is higher because of the 17 " wheels or it's suspension.

Grouch, since my 2003 GT was only a couple of months old and had less than 3000 miles on it when these measurements were taken, it could be that yours has settled a little. The front valence panel is shaped differently on the GT and results in it dragging easier than the other PT's. I would be dragging my GT's nose every day if I lowered the front end 1.3 inches. I have lot's of scrapes under the nose as it is. I had thought about lowering just the rear about 1.5" so the nose would be slightly higher than it is now but I have read that just changing the rear springs without changing the fronts can make the handling squirrelly.

Michael, I posted about using just the rears on with my H&R's. I suppose if you found some springs close to stock rating that it would not be an issue. It was just the stiffer springs in the rear that caused the problem for me.
As for the nose, I believe I have about 4-4.5 inches clearance under the lip. I will have to re-measure. I had to re-learn my parking/curb crossing behavior pretty quick to save my nose but I only really scraped about twice. I just became aware of it. Of course I don't have snow here either. It really hasn't been a problem for me.

Yuck! scraping! I've done it at least twice and didn't even realize it! Never heard a thing. I think the front on mine just scrapes the top! I have flet scratches on the bottom but you can't see em and it is plastic so I'm not to concerned! I try and back in when ever possible!
