Not using it but read about it on different forums. It does give you some extra HP but you'll have to use premium gas to do it. Is it worth it ...that's up to you. Also, if your talking about the one from Kenne Bell, you have to send in your computer and they return it reprogrammed. if you have to take your car in for service, and they happen to flash your computer, you loose all of the program.

i like the jet chip removablility for that reason. since the kenne-bell isn't removable by the user like ones i'm used to on my mustang. the difference is just $3 a tank. life is short

...and too bad there isn't a hand held programmer to eliminate the 1st to 2nd shift issue on 03 & newer auto pt's. that would be a nice provisionable selection option.

Kenne Bell is a hundred times better than the Jet chip. All the Jet chip does is to advance the timing a bit and try and fool the computer and make you use premium gas. You'll see used Jet chips on ebay all of the time. Yeah, you have to send your pcm into Kenne Bell to get the Optimizer II done, but just look at what it does.
• Up to 25 more HP. • Easy installation. • Quicker throttle response. • More torque at any rpm. • Improved 0-60 and 1/4 mile times. • Improved transmission shift quality. (firmer, quicker shifts on electronic transmissions) • Increased HP at the shifts (electronic transmissions). • Re-calibrated fuel, spark and transmission tables. • Kenne Bell calibrated. No "self tuning" required. (send us your computer, we do all the work & return it) • Guaranteed performance or your money back. You get a lot more for your money with the Optimizer II. Never seen a disatisfied customer or one for sale on ebay. It's your ride, you decide.

update- got the jet module from summit & i'm guessing this is a 2006 design, the master cylinder bottle almost perfectly is aligned with where you need to plug it in

Unfortunately the Kenne Bell website is either down, or the internet here at the hotel just isn't bringing it up, so I was unable to check into these questions further myself. My question is which is better for a manual transmission car? It seems like everyone that wants the chip is more worried about fixing the problem with the auto transmission. Everyone already knows there is only one fix to that problem.... Manual Transmission ![]() ![]() I've got a bone stock 2006 'Vert that needs some help in the HP area. I don't mind buying premium at all. Like fullmonte60 said, premium doesn't cost that much more per tank, and I don't drive enough to really care about the gas, I drive 6 miles to work, but it takes 25 minutes to get there on a good day, so I get terrible mileage either way. What is the best way for me to go? Again, sorry if this is spelled out on the Kenne Bell site, but I can't get to it right now. Thanks, Matt

on the kenne-bell site it does mention how the optimizer II takes care of the shift hp reduction autos suffer from. once i'm out of warranty i plan to use them.
