2006; Dash lights come on and needles go down

Just wondering what is causing this. This has been happening for about a week, and on my way back from Tampa, the lights kept flashing and the engine turned off but came back on in 2 seconds? But took it to Auto Zone; they ran a check and they said the O2 sensor is loose, but she said that; that would not be causing the problem....any answers....has anyone seen this before.

Hmmmm Sounds like a trip to the dealership is in order I would guess a short or computer problem.

Sounds like what mine was doing. It was actually running the same diagnostic check that is run when you first start the car. After several months they replaced the ignition switch and the PCM. That seems to have fixed the problem. BUT, it now thinks the key is in the ignition when it is not, the fobs do not work right, the trac-control light stays on at times and the car locks itself.
I talked to another '06 owner at CTR who's PT was doing the same thing. So do not let them tell you they have never heard of this.
