I have an '03 PT and it looks like the transmisson, (automatic) has given up the fight. My questionis this, what year transmissons will interchage without too much compatibility issues? For example, can I put an '05 transmission in there without dirupting the body control computer or creating any other unforeseen problems?

I do know there are 2 autos in PTs - 41TE and 40TE. You want a 41TE. In either '04 or '05 they came out with the 40TE - it has 2 fewer clutch packs, and was put on all non-turbo PTs. Turbos still get the 41TE.
I think they are interchangeable other than that, but I don't know for certain.
