Default Any difference between synthetic oils?

I drive an N/A, but am pretty fanatical about maintenance of my toys. Wal-Mart has a store brand of synthetic really cheap - shoot, their price on a 5 gal jug of Mobil 1 is really good too. I used Royal Purple from Pep Boys last change for around $35 w/ the filter.

So my question is, if the specs on the container are the same, is there a reason to not save a few bucks on the Wal-Mart brand? I'm in So. Florida in mostly city driving, trying to change every 3000 mi. or so.

Thanks!

Let's face it - WalMart doesn't produce the oil, they buy it from someone - I just don't know who. I'm sure there is a difference among synthetics, but I don't know which is best.
If you change at 3,000 miles (I go 5,000 on Mobil 1) you can't go wrong.

Yeah Don, I'm starting to gather that if you change every 3k, there's not a huge difference. This change I decided to go with the Mobil 1/K&N combo. But it's an N/A and after I calm down I'll probably go 5k or go with a cheaper synthetic like normal people do
