I am running the dual borla setup on mine (I am also running an OBX tube header and an ECC high flow cat). It has a nice solid purr on idle and normal driving has a nice loud growl, but when you step on it, the growl turns into a roar that satifys the senses. It is one of the best ones in terms of the "not ricey" sound. Also, it wont give you a headache when sitting at one RPM for long periods of time because it seems to resonate less than some of the others.

I have a question about the BTG duals. I am looking for some nice sound and hopefully a bit more performance but I DON"T want it to sound like those stupid sounding FART cans that all these imports have on them. Does anyone have a mp3 of thier exhaust sounds so I can hear it and then decide if I want them or not. Thanks.

I installed the duel Heartthrob catback system and while it has a sweet sound - much better than stock, it doesn't sound anything like the stock Honda's with the very loud "go-fast" sounding exaust systems that are all noise and no-go. FYI, the duel Heartthrob was a bas.ard to install, not the simple bolt-on system they advertise.

From what I have seen, PTs with louder-than-stock exhaust systems usually sound much better than their import counterparts thanks to the fact that they have what can be considered a "big" 4 cylinder. So many Hondas now and in fact forever have had 2 liter and less motors that when they put on their fart cans, it makes them sound like deflating balloons, the aftermath of a curry dinner, or a kazoo.

I have a low purr, but I am not exactly sure what exhaust it is, I know it's definitely aftermarket...I bought it used...I guess I should check into this huh? I kinda should know....

Well, oops, this doesn't exactly help you...

I don't think the dual exhaust is necessary way to go. I have an '04 PT Cruiser with stock exhaust manifold w/cat and I believe a stock exhaust pipe. The pipe is oval in cross-section and with a fairly large diameter. I went to a reliable muffler facility who recommended a turbo muffler instead the other aftermarket ones. I had the turbo muffler installed tucked under the back of the Cruiser and then a chrome retangular tip welded to it. It has a nice purr at idle and a very throaty sound on acceleration. Actually it is louder than with the engine sucking through a Weapons "R" foam filter coupled to a sixty degree 3" tube attached to the throttle body. So, you get the exhaust and the intake sound to produce a thunder upon acceleration. It's hard to get good mpg when you want to stomp on the throttle once an awhile.

i had a performance exhaust shop build me a mandrell bent 3 inch dual exhaust with resonators it sounds awsome almost like a old 60,s v8 i love it but my wife hates it .lol to bad for her it was quite pricey though over $ 1000.00 canadian dollars. but ifigured by the time i bought a pre fabbed exhust for 600 paid shipping exchange rate and then duty on top of that i would be better off with this custom exhaust ...... and i love it

The duals dont really give you any benefits over a single, that is true. I got mine purely for the looks.
