P1684 is nothing to worry about It just informs you that your battery was disconnected sometime in the past 50 starts.

My PT popped a second code P0401 for an ERG after disconnecting the battery again the codes started and did not return. My PT sits in a garage 95% of the time.

I'd check out the whole battery cable set, not just the terminals. On my wifes 03 we had to replace the battery cables, (it comes as a complete assembly around $70). The cable running across the top of the starter was in bad shape, near the starter lugnut.

Just to let you know that my car is at the dealer now they are driving it to put a computer on it when it does this mysterious things. I was at my sons ballgame saturday and it started acting up again, only way I could get it home was to keep my foot on gas and brake. Every time I let off of gas it would go dead. So they have had it a week now, hopefully they will figure it out this time.

thanks for the info guys, I am calling the guy thats been driving my car around from the dealer . I hope this is what has been causing my problem too. Glad you got yours straightened out.

I talked to the guy at the dealer about that and he said that wasn't the problem with mine. He has done checked that. So who knows how many miles they will put on my car trying to figure it out. Anyone with any more suggestions just ad a reply.

well a update on my car!!!! Guy called me yesterday and told me it was ready,they put another computer on it, so I went this morning to pick it up. Drove it up the road to get gas and guess what!!!!!! Check Engine light gracefully comes on again. So I turn back into the dealership, tell the guy and he takes it back to be reset. Comes back with it and I drive it across town to get my sons hair cut. We come back out and get in the car and of course it wouldn't crank, I turned it over 3 times then it finally started and it was running really rough. Then the check engine light reappears, so I drove straight back to dealer and they are working on it again.
