Hello everyone and hope someone can give me some advice. I have a 2001 LE PT, non turbo, it has 87,000 miles change the oil at regular intervals of 3500 miles. This is my wifes car and tonight she came home and told the oil light and the check engine light are. Checked oil level and it is perfect, oil cap is on tight, no leaks and motor is running fine? I am really concerned for obviuos reasons. What should I look for next?

Welcome to the forum.

If the check engine light came on, the computer has set a code that you can read to help you diagnose what is wrong. Turn the ignition key on three times without actually starting the engine. On the third turn, keep the key pointed towards the front window. The computer will light up certain numbers in the center dial that looks something like this: P0070

Come back when you have the codes (could be more than one) and we'll try to help.

Do as Crewzin suggests - or you can go to most autos stores, and they plug in and read the codes for free.
Could be the sensor.
Might be time to switch to a heavier oil - say, 10 W 30 or even 15W 50.
