I read the sticky regarding error codes and followed the instructions exactly to obtain an error code or codes as to why my check engine light is on, but unfortunately no codes appear, it just shows my odometer reading. If no codes appear does it mean I'm doing something wrong or there's nothing wrong? I find it hard to believe the latter, the check engine light doesn't just come on for nothing does it?
![]() I forgot to mention it's a 2004 Turbo with 67K miles. |

are you sure you are putting the key in advancing the key forward 3 times then looking at the odemeter it should show a car again dont start the car just forward to just before it would start 3 times

Thank you, apparently I wasn't doing it fast enough (within 5 seconds) for it to work. It came up with P0572 and wouldn't you know it, the code list posted in the sticky lists P0571 then P0573. I did some research on P0572 and found: BRAKE SWITCH #1 CIRCUIT LOW. So I've found out how to get the code, found out what the code is, now I just need to find out what the code means?
