I have a MONSTER grinding noise.
No one can figure out what this is. It's been grinding for a month, and I have now had two different people check out the car. It only happens when I apply the brakes, yet the brakes and rotors are fine. Had the wheel bearing and hub assembly replaced at 18,000 miles. My car has 29,800 miles now. The super grinding noise just started when I turn right about 2 days ago, and now there is a weird thumping noise no matter what I am doing (i.e just driving down the road, braking, doesn't matter). Front right wheel. The grinding noise is the same as described by others... metal on metal. It does stop after I've driven for about 5-10 minutes, but the thumping sound stays no matter what. Any guesses? I bought the car new in 2004. |
