So I get up to go to work today and my pt wont start. The battery is new and fully charged but when i turn the key nothing happens. I tried a bunch of things to see if they would help; tried to shift gears to see if for some reason it wasn't in park, tried my spare key to see if it was that.. nothing. I drove the car last night, parked it in the garage and now nothing. All interior and dash lights work and no computer codes when I use the key method. What do you think it can be? Did the started suddenly go or is there a solenoid that went?? The thing is I turn the key and get absolutely nothing and after trying and trying sometimes I would just get a short click when turning the key but no attempt to turn over. I only have like 56k on my car and have never had any problems leading up to this. Has anyone else had a similar problem? Does anyone have ideas on what it could be? Thanks!

Might be a bad starter cable, look at the top of the starter, the cable from the battery runs over the top. I had one go on my wife's 03 last year.

A clicking sound usually means the battery has dropped to a level where it can't put out enough volts to turn the starter. Just for the heck of it, jump start it with a good battery ( + to +, - on the good battery to a ground on the dead car) and see if it turns starts. If it does, probably a dead sell in the battery.

Battery checks out as does all of the wiring. I replaced the starter to see if that was the problem but still the same thing...I turn the key it clicks once and then nothing happens...any other ideas?

The last thing I can suggest is the fuse box in the engine compartment.
#1 fuse Ignition Start #3 fuse Ignition Run #17 fuse Ignition Off Draw (not sure what that is) I didn't see anything on the interior fuse panel that has anything to do with starting.

Yes, me too. Garage, work, start, nothing. 55K and that was three years ago. What do you do. Flatbed and garage. I just remember that they did a tune up and replaced a part and no such problem since with 138K. Will have to pull out the slip tomorrow to see the specifics. Trust you are back on the road by now.
