Mine had the same problem. You should find that it will last longer the second round with the brakes.

Richslider and phatcat, welcome.
Now on to the topics; The brakes are well documented as being quick to wear. Hope your new set lasts longer. Did you get the brake light (low fluid level) before service? This is a common indicator you are getting close to needing pads.
On the trans, there have been problems, and you should fight the charge. The lower control arm bushings are also a problem with earlier cars. There is a TSB, I think. Both of you guys should do some searching through the forum for this stuff so you will be better informed.
To answer your next question, the multifunction switch and tires are also subject to ridicule here.

Wow, I just passed 50k and had some other service done and they suggested I change mine. I drive hard and have never had any problems...still don't. I'm upgrading when I make the change.

Six months ago at 19,000 I went to a Chrysler dealer to get some warranty work done and they said I needed brakes really soon, down to 20% and asked if I'd like it done while there. Being cheap, I said no. Saturday I went to Pep Boys and THEY said I have over half the brake pad left. I was pissed. I had the ceramics put on anyway and I notice no difference in braking at all.

I got a hair less than 40,000 on my brakes and about the same on my tires. Went to pepboys and got the pads for both front and rear. The fronts ceramic the rears partial ceramics. Got slotted and drilled and zinc washed rotors from eBay and got Russell SS brake lines from a place in Canada. Flushed the system checked the adjustment of the parking brake and I was done. Been on about 8,000 miles and they look brand new and no rust. Can't say they break better as I was pretty satisfied with the old ones. BTW do all drilled rotors make a slight wind type noise? Can hear it only at low speeds in summer with all windows open.

Improvement came with new disks from NAPA withthe ceramics - and the ceramics should resist fade better.
You WILL notice your wheels won't get filthy from dust.
I think the stock brakes work fine, the just throw too much dust & don't last.

[)]I got 31k out of my front brakes & just had rotors turned at the dealer,,, but I also had to have lower control arms & bushings (luckily warranty) whats up with that? They tried to scam me though on lubing the bushings which I won! (I got dealer service credits) sometimes I think its the Service writer making a few $$$$$ MJB

Not sure what is up with the bushings. I had mine checked at 40,000 and not a sign of wear. I herd the rumor than overseas PT's were having bushing problems so I had mine specifically checked and no wear.
