out of my 2001 with 138K onto the garage floor right front just under the coolant fill. Maybe a gasket needs replacing in that area?

Either thermostat or water pump.....Thermostat is fairly inexpensive to repair. Water pump.... Not so cheap.

Just re-reading. 138K miles? Have you replaced the timing belt? You'd better. When the timing belt is done, usually the water pump is also replaced, since the labor is about the same.

Looks like coolant is coming from right near the thermostat housing if that is just down from the top of the fill tube. Looks like the gasket is gone. Will try replacing. Timing belt was done at 120K. Thanks
