I have a United Kingdom 2003 PT Cruiser Classic CRD (2.2 L diesel)
The cigarette lighter and Power outputs not working seems to be a common problem with the PT. I have checked the fuses on mine and all is ok. Have had a multimeter checking the parts of the circuits I could and get to and the problem seems to be between the PDC and the positive part (the centre bit) of the outlets. The only susceptible part I can see is connector 106 which I think I have identified (above the pedals and next to the data link output) but wagggled it to see if I could get it to work but nothing happened (like identifying a loose connector) So, fuses all ok, the negative parts of the sockets connected to ground (earth). Where does the problem lie? As it happens a lot on PTs and somebody must have fixed it, where is the problem? No forums anywhere seem to solve the problem but it must be a weak part of the design that fails a lot. This means somebody must have a solution. can somebody provide a solution we can fix easily instead of having to go to a dealer? Keep cruising Tony |

I've tried looking all over for "power outlet problems" and it usually came down to only one thing...the 20v fuse in the fuse box under the hood (bonnet to you). In my 2001 it's a yellow fuse #19. Please check it again and maybe put a new fuse in just to be sure.
