Default Newbe with a few questions on a 04 pt

Hi everyone I have just bought a reg pt cruiser with 54000 miles on it it has a oil leak that looks like it is coming from the valve cover I see oil in the spark plug well and it is running down the back side of the engine over the exhust header and creating a bad smell my question is how hard is it to replace the gasket and how common is this problem on this engine and does anyone know the tuorque spec for the valve cover and the intake for sure the intake must come off to get to the valve cover .

Thanks in advance

The jon should be relatively easy. I don't have exact torque specs, but it should be in the 15 ft/lb range from my expeience with valve cover jobs on other cars. When you tighten it, start from the inside bolts .... work in a criss-cross pattern ...... hitting the outer bolts last. Recheck the torque once done.

Remember these numbers are INCH pounds, not foot pounds!
