Starts and stops again?
I have a 2001 2,0 automatic. limited. 83000 miles.
Sometimes when i start the engine it stops again right away.  i can do this maybe 5-6 times before it will run. Next day it can run just fine whitout any problems. I went too the dealership to get it diagnosed. They told me to change the spark plugs and wires but it didn`t help. I also have a problem with driving lights going dead while engine runing,only break lights working. Can anyone please help?

daggie,
Welcome to the forum. You didn't fill out your profile but with you saying you have a 2.0 you must be overseas as the USA doesn't have that engine. As far as your problem with stopping after starting, you might have a dirty or malfunctioning IAC (Idle Air Controller) located behind the Throttle Body (if your engine is the same as the 2.4 that we have. See Picture below. The lights going out is an electrical problem that you'll have to trace down.

Hi CREWZIN and thank you for your fast reply!
Yes i am overseas,in Norway.. Over here it`s the 1,6 l 2,0 l gas and the 2,2 diesel that are most common. Yes i have located the IAC on my engine. I will take it out tomorow and clean it. I will let you know how it works out. Once again thank you!

Yes it worked! The IAC was very dirty. i cleaned it well and the engine now starts and runs good.
