Default Check engine Light

My check engine light came on the other day and I checked the code and it came up with a P2096. Anyone know what that code might be?

P2096-DOWNSTREAM FUEL TRIM SYSTEM 1 LEAN

From the internet: That means the computer has seen a problem with the rear O2 sensor on bank one. This would be on the left side behind the catalytic converter. We usually just replace the sensor and clear the codes. For the computer to set this code its has seen the sensor failure .

A clogged or malfunctioning 02 sensor can cause a variety of different problems and it's a cheap an easy fix. What year PT do your have and what is your mileage?

Hmmm. Kinda new for an 02 sensor to be malfunctioning, but as I said, cheap and easy fix.

Could be an one-off code and you can disconnect the negative battery terminal for a couple minutes to clear it but you did say you bogged down in relation to it so it's up to you what you do. Is it still bogging down now and again?

it will bog down while driving down the road. And sometimes when you come to a stop light it will almost die.

That sounds almost like the problem one of the other owners was having. Read this and see if that might help you...

Starts and stops again?

the downstream O2 sensor is there to monitor the health of the catalytic converter. a plugged cat will definately bog down your motr while cruising and will choke out the car while stopping.
