The easy way to get the filter off is to go to your nearest Harbor Freight Tools and buy the Pittsburgh Oil Filter Master Plier, 2-1/8" to 4-5/8" range. It will cost you around $9.99. It will end the pain of getting this "trapped" filter off! Soooo much better than any strap!!

Just a note. After disconnecting the battery preset radio stations will not affected unless you step on the brake during the battery disconnect.
