Sounds like it's a spark plug tube seal. No biggie.

agree with slarty on this. pull off the valve cover and replace the seals and the valve cover gasket. shouldnt be too hard.

I know this is an old thread but could this cause oil to be in the cylinder? I just pulled my plugs because I was dropping a cylinder on acceleration and my #2 plug is very oil fouled.

Hopefully this could be the cause otherwise I am afraid it's piston rings.

Reh, if the plug threads have some oil on them, the spark plug tube seals may be leaking. If, however, the electrode is oil fouled, then you have another problem.

Cracked piston'd be my guess. Not THAT big of deal.

Everybody seems to be on the right track here. You could have dropped a valve on the head of the piston, that would not be good. You could have cracked a piston, not as bad but still not good, could score the piston walls. Or could be as suggested, tube seal gone bad. That, on the other hand, is an easy fix. Comparatively.

Sounds like a broken piston oil ring.

A compression check would seem to be in order if you are going to take it apart to get to the plugs/cover anyway ....
