2005 pt overheat no engine codes

Default 2005 pt overheat no engine codes

my girlfrind has a 2005 pt and its overheating. no engine codes come up but the check engine light blinks 9 times and then stays on after that. i can't find anything wrong. anyone have an idea?

hi, welcome to the board ,water pump ?? while car is running do you see the liquid in the radiator moving ?? where is the liquid coming from while its over heating ??

There could be a number of reasons why it's verheating but the main one a lot of owners have is that one or both fan motor speeds have burn out. Two other reasons are water pump (mentioned above) and a malfunctioning or broken thermostat.

And most expensive of all, a clogged radiator or bad head gasket.
