My 2008 gets about 19 in town, 26 highway with A/C on. If its heavy stop and go traffic in town, very short trips etc. then 16-18 is about right.

Don't trust the cars' computer. You will get a more accurate reading if you just do the math at each fill up.

If your car does not have the E85 badge on it, don't even try it. E85 is ethonal and burns much hotter than your standard fuel. However, it does not have the same "bang for your buck" as regular unleaded. You will get much better gas milage with regular gas.

Besides all that, to convert you over would not be cost efficient even with the fuel savings unless it was $1 or more cheaper than regular gas.

I've not seen any PT Cruiser that will run at all on E85. I might be wrong though. If you don't see "FlexFuel" or E85 all over the place - using that fuel will probably break the car.

Gotta love the way the nickel is mined for the Prius batteries at the Sudbury, Ontario plant. Where the nickel is mined and smelted is an environmental disaster.
The environmental issues near Sudbury have long existed WAYYYY before they started to buy the nickel for batteries. The local geology contains a large amount of sulfur, which has built up since the 1800's due to mining activity of all types, producing a larger than usual local amount of acid rain.

I'd be driving mine daily if it only got 11 MPG but I'm glad I get around 20, some weeks a little less, some a little more. I drive about 20 miles one way to and from work on mostly an Interstate with some local driving on city streets. I've had mine a bit over a year and a half. I don't know how old the plugs or wires are. Some day I'll get them changed but for now she runs just fine and has great get up and go for my needs.

Same.... I go 15 miles on I-16 to work one way and it's been 4 tanks of gas since I changed my plugs and wires but my MPG hasn't improved... right around 19.5 to 20.5 average factoring in the stop and go driving....

Only been on one trip with it so far (with the old plugs and wires) to Atlanta... 500 miles round trip and I got 23 on the Interstate, with cruise at 75 and A/C running.

20 MPG seems to be the norm.. biggest difference I've noticed in changing plugs and wires is just smoother acceleration and overall the car has just ran better... no MPG difference.

I was amazed the original owner never changed the plugs and wires but that's why I did it... peace of mind maintenance and now that I've done that in addition to the tranny flush I'm hoping all is well for another 40-50k when the timing belt comes due.

You are correct not a flex fuel car.. Just don't do it..

My personal thanks to veteran and novice crewbies that have offered information and how-to's they have been instrumental in taking LiquidPT from modded car to stock to live a more quiet and sedate life.
