I have a 2003 PT Limited Edition.
Me and my mechanic have tried so much to figure out this problem. And my mechanic is Grade A I've been going through him for five years. The problem I am having is that when the A/C is turned on the Radiator Fan is suppose to turn on to cool the pressure system for the A/C so that the heat doesnt cause high pressure and release on the cut-off valve. The problem I am having is that the Radiator Fan does not seem to want to turn on when the A/C is turned on. However it does work, and it cycles on/off when the engine gets hotter and then when it is not so hot. We have checked many relays and checked many sensors and cannot seem to fix the problem. If anyone has had the similar problem or knows how to fix this problem, the help will be greatly appreciated. -Casey

I may not be much help but I have heard that the pt has a two stage fan and that may be your problem the one speed may be coming on to cool off the system but the other speed may be for the a/c cooling and it may be that speed is burned out and not working
so you may just need a new fan but I am sure others will come alone and add to my comment I hope this helps |

Intend,
2004PT hit it on the head. If the fan doesn't come on when you turn on the A/C then the high speed part of the fan motor is burnt out. It happened to mine. Since it does cycle on and off, the low speed is working but not enough to cool the engine down with the A/C working. I'm up in Virginia right now but can help you replace the fan (fan about $100 on eBay or a lot more from the dealer) and you can save alot in labor charges. But, I won't be returning till the 5th of May. If you can't wait till then, let your mechanic change it for you. To check the high speed fan, disconnect the fan clip (see picture) and add hot and ground wires to fan part of wire harness. Fan should come on. If not, it's burnt out.
