Crewzin,
thanks for the HUGE pointers. I'm kinda scared to go to long without getting it fixed. Unfortunately, I'm also getting fed up at the seemingly odd things going wrong on my PT: rack and pnnion, A/C going out, now all this. Thanks again though. You are always a great help. |

So my mechanic said the coil packs need to be replaced, and that ruined the plugs and wires. Chrysler hadn't even told me about the coil pack.
They are also going to replace the MAP sensor and clean the throttle body etc, and it's still, of course, going to be hundred cheaper than the dealer. I am officially done with the dealer. |

I have owned many types of cars and have never met a dlr svc dept I was thrilled with but the 3 Chrylser stealerships I have dealt with since owning my 05 vert have been the worst. Even if I have a powertrain breakdown, I'd rather pay out of pocket than fight with them for warranty coverage...but prob. doesn't matter anyway as I am a little past Stage 1 now and they would dig their heels in to blame it on the mods.

Sorry about your dealership problems. There are many complaints on the forum and others about dealers trying to get out of warranty work or just plain charging for things that don't need to be done by throwing parts at particular problems until they find the problem. There are private mechanics that do the same thing too, but mostly dealers as they don't have the time to really dig deep and diagnose some problems. They rely on the computer to tell them what's wrong. Sometimes it works, sometimes it doesn't.
There are good dealers out there too and great mechanics. ![]()
