Tornado fuel saver???

I'm assuming that this doesn't work. Does anyone have experience with this "fuel saver"? Can it damage the engine? Anyway just thought I'd ask....

Not to many months ago I read on a different forum (can't remember which) that one poor fellow had one of those on his engine and one of the fins broke off and was sucked into the engine.... did some major damage. I don't know if it was the tornado brand but if not is was a similar design.

With todays Electronic Fuel Injected (EFI) engines there is no gain using one of these. It was dubious if they did any good for carbed engines. That along with risk of some real damage I would stay far away from the thing. Maybe if you painted one silver it would make a good topper for a xmas tree.

I checked out the PM link above. It is funny how far people will go and how much they'll spend to increase their MPG by 2-3. How many miles would one have to drive to save the amount of money one puts into the additives, K&N (which aren't cheap), after market exhaust, etc? I too wish my ride would get better gas mileage, but don't we all? The only way is too heed what is obvious, change the driving habits. See a red light ahead, coast to it. Gotta pick something up from the store two blocks away, walk. For crying out loud, quit racing from light to light, biggest waste of all (not talking PT drivers only). Gotta go, lights turning red, need to be first.

7 gas tanks ago, I started pumping gas at the slowest speed possible. I now get an additional 20-30 miles off a tank of gas.

That's what I thought to good to be true. I have taken the advice and started coasting, take it easy with the manual and pay attention to speed.
