Default Two question from the newbee!

Hey gang, great forum by the way. The other one I was on really sucked. I purchased my wife a 03 Red GT last week. This is our second PT. She made me promise to get her another one when we traded the 01 PT on a Hemi Ram. So anyway enough about that. My questions are this:
1. What is the best plug for a turbo'd PT? Platnumim or not?
2. What dual exhaust system should I run? On the last PT I had custom duals run and at about 3K you had major noise in the cab. I don't want that again.

Thks

Cool Re: Two question from the newbee!

Past posts have said "NO" to platinum plugs for the turbo.
Copper or iridium.

Go to a PT show and listen to a few duals and make up your own mind. I have Bassani and it sounds good to me, maybe others wouldn't like them.

The consensus is that copper is best, here's a thread to read about the plugs for the Turbo....

Copper or platinum plugs for turbo

As far as the dual exhaust, you don't have to worry about spending anywhere near that 3K you mentioned. Even the custom side exhaust with leg pipes only run 1K. Everything made for the PT comes out the CAT and then splits so we're not talking real "dual" exhausts. As Hooligan already said, it's best if you can hear someones set up first if possible because what's music to some may be noise to others.

There's quite a bit of choices for exhaust such as, BTG, Borla, Hearthrob, PTeazer and Trendsetter. Here's a couple places to give you an idea of what they look like and the cost.....

Chrysler PT Cruiser Exhaust Systems - PT Cruiser Accessories - AutoTruckToys.com

Chrysler PT Cruiser Exhaust Systems - Chrysler PT Cruiser Performance - PT Cruiser Accessories Store...

I like Borla exhaust. Maybe I am stuck in a rut but I have had them on many cars over the years. They are all stainless, fit well and have a nice, "just a little louder than stock" sound when driving sedately and a little rumble at idle. When you tromp on it though they give you the sound you want. They can be pricey though but they are one of the best on the market IMHO.

I think he was talking about 3000 RPM and how the exhaust resonated inside the cab (yay for headaches!) My borla is amazing (no headaches), but I run mine on a non turbo and have a tube header and high flow cat.
