I have 06 GT highout put turbo. I get 18 city and 23-24 highway. Any help on how I can do better. I did change the stock tire to federals which is a softer ride and I no that hurts alittle.

You are actually getting pretty good mpg. I get 5+ more mpg by staying totally out of boost.

I wondered what he was complaining about. If you have a GT and put your foot in it, you shouldn't expect more. Wonder if he knows he is pushing/pulling 1 1/2 tons of metal (3000#) or so.

When my wife hit the gas at a light till she got to 40 mph it went to 11mpg and went back up to 17.9 in the city after driving around for a time and stayed there. I thought great! BUT...Today and yesterday the MPG was 15 and went down to 14.3mpg. What is happening here! I have the Crane firewires to put on but still waiting for my plugs to arrive to put them in. Hopefully tomorrow! I noticed the slight rough idling of the car from day one when you start it up. WE bought the 07 two months ago but have been unhappy with OUR gas mileage! What are we doing wrong?
Your rough Idle might be the clue. Take it into the dealer and ask them to test the 02 sensor. That is the one after the Cat. converter. I had the same problem. A faulty sensor would mean your care is running to rich likely. That wastes fuel and makes your idle rough. It is a cheap part to replace.
I had the same problem. My mileage is around 25mpg on average. It used to be less than 20

Would the grade of gas affect mpg? I'm wondering if maybe I should be using premium in my turbo instead of unleaded regular.

IF you have the full turbo (not turbo lite) you should be using premium not regular. If it says premium fuel on your fuel door that's the tip off.

My 06 GT has the High output turbo and I have always used 89 to get the mileage I have been getting. Calls for 91 but I never used it.

Just checked one of your first posts, you said you have a GT, you must use premium or it will mess up your mileage.

Thanks. There's nothing on the door of the fuel tank (1st place I looked) and in the manual that came with the car, it said that 87 grade is fine, but don't use anything higher than 91 grade.

I have 06 GT Convertible K&N Filter, E3 spark plugs, crane's wires, using premium gas and I am getting about 19 to 23 MPG... Highway/City driving I range in speeds from 65 to 75 MPH-- When I ran the AC it dropped down to 17 mpg or lower with a combo of city driving.

I just put new tires on the car -- Which I am not loving - They are goodride, never heard of them.. Thinking of exchanging them for toyo.

ETA:

If you have a High output Turbo 2.4 liter GT -- Then you have to use Premuim or you will loose MPG -- I did this by mistake and got 10 to 12 MPG
