I am new here and am wondering if anyone can give me step by step instructions on how to locate the crankshaft position sensor on my 030pt cruiser. I know it's in the back of the engine and that's it.

John, that's the CAMSHAFT sensor which is exposed by removing the air box.. He wants the CRANKSHAFT sensor in the back of the engine.

yeah i already replaced that sensor. Maybe i should give you guys the problem i am having. when i left work my 03 cruiser just shut off and would not start back up so i had to tow it home. i found the code for the camshaft sensor so i replaced it. after replacing the sensor the car still wont start up. it will turn over but not start, which is why i am looking to replace the crankshaft sensor. so should i replace it or look for another problem.

So, you already replaced the CAMSHAFT sensor and it won't start so your about to throw in a CRANKSHAFT sensor at it.
A search of the Internet says you might be right but there's other causes of the code: Possible causes include: Intermittent Crankshaft Position Sensor Signal Intermittent Camshaft Position Sensor Signal CMP Signal Circuit Shorted Ground CMP Signal Circuit Open CMP Signal Circuit Shorted To Voltage CMP Signal Shorted To (K7) 5 Volt Supply Circuit Sensor Ground Circuit Open PCM - CMP Signal Camshaft Position Sensor Also, Chrysler put a TSB out on the 03 cruiser with possible false codes (including P0340) that might be set by the computer.
