what's the purpose of filling the resonator with foam? Why not cut that section off and seal the box where it was attached?

I thought it would look like a hack job to lop it off and glue or screw a plate to it. Just a personal preference.

Cool Re: DIY Air Box mods

I have the air raid system in mine. $179.00 but it does work well. Helps Hp and fuel mileage. I noticed at some auto parts places they have the cone filters and elbows that they sell separately to build your own set up. It is cheaper but the hot air issue is still a problem without the air being blocked off somehow from the engine. I hear also that a drop in K&N filter is just as good without the sound the open system gives you.

Crane wires and Champion double platinum plugs seem to help a lot.

Good luck on your venture of improving the performance and fuel economy of your car.

Try to drive with the wind and and have two people push your car at a time and gas mileage will improve dramatically!

It's not just a matter of MPG... it's the ride! Still wish it was better!
