Default Road Noise

I have a considerable amount of road noise with my 2001 PT Cruiser Limited Edition. Service techs cannot find any problem. All the reports I've read states that road noise is at a minimum. Any suggestions>

Under what conditions do you get the noise? All the time?

RN

Hi RN

I have the road noise problem all the time and under all road conditions. Even newly paved highways.

Have you rotated your tires recently ? alot of times rotating the tires will cause road noise .<img src=icon_smile_cool.gif border=0 align=middle>

IF you have the stock Goodyear tires they cause alot of road noise as they wear down. I have had that problem with most of my cars that have goodyear tires. I just put Dunlop tires on my Sebring and the difference is dramatic. I can't wait till the goodyears on my cruiser wear out. Goodyear tires suck!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Hi James....I only have 6000 miles on my PT. I had the wheel bearings checked and they were fine. I have goodyear tires and several PT owners have complained about these tires. Maybe I'll just have to wait until they wear down and then switch brands LOL. Do you have Goodyears on your PT?
Thanks for the response!! Ron

Hi Greg.......yes, I have Goodyear tires and I've heard the same complaint from other people who have Goodyear tires. Hopefully when it's time for new tires, that will solve the problem. Thanks for your input.
Ron

I got my car in Oct and still only have about 1700 miles on it...I asked today at work (I the body shop foreman at a Honda, Isuzu, Daewo,Chrysler dealership) if we've had any complants about road noise from our PT owners and they said none at all...we've sold about 30 PT's and we really haven't had any complaints at all from these cars....I do have to Goodyears on my PT and I'm not a fan of Goodyear tires by no means, I like Kelleys but just so happens my 17's and 18's (front-rear) showed up today so come about the end of March, my Goodyears will come off , best of luck to ya....James
