I just went to the shop to get a state inspection...had my right & left lower control arm bushings, rear sway bar end links and rear shocks replaced because they were shot and had an oil change...
I go to turn my ac on after it's back from the shop and all the sudden it starts making a buzzing noise...turn the ac off and it goes away. I took it back to the mechanic and he said that even though it seems like a huge coincidence, that they weren't working on that part of the car and the compressor is going bad. I have 88,000 miles on my 2001 and was wondering if anyone else had this sort of buzzing? When do compressors usually need to be replaced? Is this mechanic totally screwing with me?... thanks |

There's no replacement time for compressors - some last, some don't. I'd say got to a place that specializes in A/C and see what they say.
