[8)]As usual the cheapskate in me took over, that and I'm a poor working
stiff!! Ben had an Air Raid, so called cold air intake for a non turbo. It's metal, FULL of gaps and it's not insulated!! Sooo, I used it as a template for a REAL cold air intake and it works with my hood scoop OR the conventional fender vent. It's made from 1/4 " Plexiglas, conforms to the shape of the hood and fender sides, almost a perfect seal, I used a radiator hose that was the right shape and insulated the hose and the box with thin foam and aluminum insulation. The temp difference between the box and just outside is approximately 75 degrees!!! Needless to say the performance boost is significant!! AND I reworked the hood scoop and insulation so it works perfectly with the cold air intake. Note the blue insulation, brake paint!! Also It took a BUNCH of tries but I finally got the pattern right for the battery cover!! Go to my photo album http://photos.yahoo.com/bc/airbillster and see Prototype to finish, backwards. I have a AIR FORCE 1 cold air intake on my 2001 PT Limited. The cold air come in from the front grill area over the battery and into the air filter. Makes a real nice groowl sound when you step on the gas. ![]() |

Where did you get your AF1 for your PT?? I was thinking along the lines of a Airaid with the Poweraid or The K&N with the Poweraid...!! Any Thoughts??? [:I]
