Chrysler PT Cruiser computer codes Great, looking like something major is going on. Great, anyone know what I can do to fix this?

Hi, I had the same problem, picked up a new sensor (CPS) and problem solved! Really cheap part at Autozone. :]

Colby.
Could be the sensor (see pic below) but also check all the wiring that comes from the sensor. There's more than one person (me included) that had the wiring harness come loose and wires burnt on the half-shaft. Wires run from sensor around the back of the engine and can come loose.

Good idea to replace the camshaft sensor. There is also a PCM reprogram that addresses this issue I believe. I can't access the Chrysler site at home but I'm pretty sure about it. If you are under 8yrs or 80k miles then the flash should be free. Again not 100 percent sure but pretty sure.

Me again,
tried all of the above, checked wires and all seems fine. Have not yet replaced anything or the value you mentioned. Want to find exact problem. It came again this mourning except it won't turn over at all now just act like starting. I want to find the exact problem before wasting a bunch of money on this trying to find the correct problem. Thanks

If your wires all look good, its most likely the CPS.

Well changed the upper portion or the camshaft sensor.
Jacked the car and got under it three time to try to figure out where the heck the crankshafter position sensor is. I can't seem to find it anywhere. When you use the Hanes repair manual, you see the area which looks like the picture, but there is no sensor in this location. Could they have changed this on the 03 cruiser? Well still trying to figure it out.

Colby,
Your code was for the CAMshaft position sensor not the CRANKshaft sensor. Why are you looking to replace that? Does your PT start now? To answer your question: It's possible they moved the Crankshaft Position Sensor but they still use it to this day so it has to be around the same area. Back side of the engine above the oil filter. In 03 they did away with the EGR tube that connected the upper manifold to the EGR valve so they can move things around.
