Default Check engine light, skipping

Noticed car was not running to well, I came to red light and check engine light came on, started to have rough idle. When the light turned green and I gave it gas the check engine light went out. 2 weeks later Check engine light came on agian but the idle is ok, only it seems to be skipping when driving. I changed sparkplugs and wires, oil and cleaned the IAC motor (Idle Air Control). The check engine light went out after I did the following tune up, but it still seems to be skipping. Any ideas????

No codes No faults

If the check engine light came on, there has to a fault code stored in the computer unless you took one of the battery cables off and cleared it.

When you checked for codes, did it read "done" or "no faults" since you say there were no codes.

it replyed no faults, and yes I did remove the negative cable when I removed the IAC motor, but it stayed on for about 5 mins after that. I did not know how to check for codes until after it turned off. bummer!
