Default MPG & AC

I have a 2002 Cruiser LTD & I was wondering if having air con. on has a negative effect on mpg as it does with me. I have always heard it doesn't make that much difference in running air or not as far as mpg goes, but when I don't have it on & windows down a couple inches, I get considerably better mpg, at least on the highway.

Thumbs up Re: MPG & AC

That's a mechanical "no-brainer"! It takes energy to pull the AC compressor.

On my 2001 it pulls between 2 and 4 mpg right off the top.
