Hi,
I'm new to the forums. I thought you all should check your rides for this problem. I noticed that the the woven plastic mesh on my radiator overflow hose (small circle) was actually sawing into the A/C hoses (large circle) that it passes over. This could have been an expensive problem had I not caught it in time. (see photo) I have since wrapped the lines with split-loom and I will check it occasionally. I hope this saves some trouble for you guys. |

An Update:
Last week, I passed a used-car dealership. A 2006 PT was in front with the hood up, so I checked it out. The hoses looked just like mine after I had covered them with split-loom. Today while I was kickin' it in the shade on a break, a young woman in an '04 PT (like mine) pulled up next to me, so asked her if I could peek under her...hood. Lo and behold her hoses were similarly unprotected and rubbing. I showed her mine and told her my story, which all started with the Famous Fan Issue, and she thanked me!

I have the mesh between the hoses and pulled them apart to look and there's hardly and noticeable markings on the hose so it's not rubbing on mine.
