I have recently bought a greddy electronic boost controller, i have everything installed except for 2 things that i need some info on.
1. When installing the boost solenoid do i bypass the stock solenoid unit or do put it before, or after the stock solenoid? <-- pictures would be great if anyone has them. 2. Where can i tap the rpm signal wire to? Detailed instructions would be great if anyone can help me. thanks. edit: i forgot to mention i own a srt-4 |

Yes you will bypass the factory one.
Use the turbo fitting on the left side of the turbo inlet. You will need to connect a "Tee" off it. From this line, connect it to the e01 solenoid, and to the wasetgate fitting. Cap off the factory line to the solenoid. This settup will let the computer still have control of the factory boost solenoid and think it is all there. For the RPM signal wire, I used the "#1 Coil wire" at the PCM connector, I will give you the color code tonight. The drawback is that you will have to set up the e01 to monitor a 2 CYl car for correct RPM info on the screen. If you don't do this, it will display twice the real RPM. I have pictures of this install but with an A'PEXi controller. Send me an E-mail and I will send them to you. Ian

As promissed,
use the PCM connector #2 (second from left to right) use wire # 10 Color Black with gray line. This will tap into coil #1. remember to setup the e01 to 2 CYL for correct RPMs. Hector from Exhaust Depot uses an MSD converter with his e01 so he doesn't have to set it to 2 CYL. Ian

thanks for all your help. yesterday i was troubleshooting and i was testing setups. i used the factory line from the turbo and put a "y" splitter at the end. One goes to the greddy solenoid, and the other to the factory. the greddy completes the cycle back to the actuator. I left the exit hose from the stock valve unplugged so it vents into the atmosphere. I am now able to control my boost but i cant boost more then 15psi until my mopar stage 1 arrives. Thus i dont know if this setup will affect my boost prressure or configuration in any way in the future. do you have any thoughts on this? Thanks for all the help

I plugged the factory line to the actuator because the factory solenlid is allways at the open position. This could affect your boost reaction or even boost drop. I used a screw to plug it. I also used the forward fitting instead of the rear one because it is bigger and it should give you more volume to open and close the wasetgate.
