Yes, but sometimes they are hard to find. The Double Platinum before those were #7440 and they work just as well. I had them for over 50,000 miles without a problem and just put them in again last night and the old ones looked almost new. The only reason I changed them was because I already bought the new ones with the wires and had everything apart, so why not.

I think it might actually be the computer.

I posted my experience at the chrysler forum:

Turbo PT Cruiser 2002 Stalls When Coming to a Stop - WHY?

I found that after killing the battery, the problem went away. After a month of driving, the problem came back. Then, once the battery was disconnected for a day or two, the problem went away.

Is there any way the computer is learning something wrong? The way the car stalls, it just dies - no sputter or anything. I almost think the computer is just sending a signal to shut off the engine when it goes below, or to, an idle RPM.

Any chance my logic might have any merit?

Here's another thread discussing the issue:

Standard PT Cruiser 2001 Stalls when Stopping

I really don't think it's the plugs and wires. That's a good thing to replace, but it hasn't made a difference for anyone having this problem.

You might try calling in your VIN to a local dealer and see if there's been a computer upgrade that came out for your model year.

if the problem keeps happening look into your states lemon law and make the push for that !! you dont neeed your husband or yourself hurt or worse just because they dont have time to look at it i would be all over them !! and make sure you call chrysler direct everytime you bring it to the dealership also keep records of everything !!
